Getting Published – An Editor's Perspective with Ciara Doorley

Tuesday 4th February; 6.30pm–8.30pm
Duration: 8 Weeks; Cost: €220/€200 members

This eight week course will explore the business of editing and writing from a publisher's point of view. From what publishers are looking for in submissions, to how to constructively edit and shape your writing in preparation for submission to agents and publishers. With feedback on work, the writer will be given an overview of the editing process, the book market and market trends.

Ciara Doorley is Editorial Director at Hachette Books Ireland. Writers will be asked to submit 30,000 words of a work in progress by Friday morning, 31 January. The course is suitable for both fiction and narrative non-fiction memoir.
